The last year of Wii consoles was that no-internet redesign, I don't believe the mailbomb hack still worked on them. So yeah, they kinda did stop selling hackable Wiis.

I should grab a model 1 Wii one of these days. I have the unhackable top-loader. The lack of internet isn't what kills it. It's the lack of an SD card slot that makes it impossible to exploit.
You can't even use component cables with it.
