It's kinda weird to me that Sonic 3&K keeps track of what special stage rings you've found yet Sonic Mania does not.

Locking players out of re-using a ring on a given save file seems like a good and natural way to encourage exploration, and these stages are big.

Hmm? When I played through the game, it locked me out. Even if I went back to an earlier stage, a ring I had used was now no longer usable. Maybe they changed that in the launch date update?

It was locked when I played on ps4.

S&k would let you farm the same big ring on mushroom whatever.

Yeah someone pointed out that beating the game is what lets you hop back in both Mania and 3&K. Kinda goofy imo but at least you can make it a point to just pick them all up in one playthrough.

Sega broke PC Sonic. DRM in the form of Denuvo, and it can't be played offline at the moment. Between the negative publicity and Denuvo being cracked in a week or so, what;'s the point?

The point of Denuvo seems to be to piss off people who buy PC games upon release.
Hopefully they patch it out after a few weeks.
