I need help REALLY quick with fonts and my pc

okay im out and about downloading freeware fonts and i need to put them somewhere so that quarkxpress/photoshop/illustrator will find them. where the heck do i put them?

Just do a search on your main drive (wherever your OS is (probably C) for some *.ttf files and toss them in the same place. It's probably in its own seperate directory under the main Windows/OS system directory or whatever... once you do that, it should be it.

If your running XP (I assume it works with other versions), you go to:

Control Panel --> Fonts ---> File ---> Install New Font

Find the fonts and install them.

I just download them all into a certain folder, unzip if necessary, and copy + paste all of them into the windows/FONTS folder. Not sure which way is quicker......

My computer does not know the fonts are there when I do it that way,
