I've heard good things about the AVS. I want one!
In my own hauls I just got the new Transformers The Movie bluray. This movie is plagued with having something wrong with pretty much every video release.
Some of the people are whining about quality issues on the bluray. Most of what they are complaining about were issues in the original movie and are present in my laserdisc from way back when. Buncha whiners...

The biggest complaint is that the black levels are wrong. A lot of the movie takes place in space, and space isn't black, it's more of a dark gray. My old laserdisc is like that, I'm pretty sure the original film was like that, they didn't really do "true black" before the 90's for the most part. If you've watched old space anime (and most of us have) most of them are like that unless they did a thorough remastering when transferring to dvd or bluray.
What's on the disc is a non-Disney animated movie from 1986. No more, no less.

If by USB you mean everdrive or powerpack, yes.
No, but it does work with flash carts.
