Thread: How many Tabs

  1. Usually about 6 - 3 articles, Reddit, Facebook, and something else.

That's 13 tabs. What about the other 387?

At a certain point, doesn't it become easier just to open a fresh tab for the thing you need than search for the already-opened tab for it among 400 others? I feel like that point arrives around tab 5.

What do the tabs even look like? They must be so compressed that they're represented by only an icon, right? Why wouldn't you just new tab and type "the-n" and hit enter to get to TNL instead of trying to guess which tiny v-bulletin logo tab correlates to TNL?

  3. 99% of Genesis repros are drop in, drop out, no wiring needed. How the hell would you need 3 guides? Also, unlike NES, there arent 57 different board configurations. There are 8, tops. And half of those are the same as the other half, except have save batteries.

True story. That's the first thing I thought.

  6. I keep about 1 or 2 open at home. If I'm parallel browsing (like shopping for things, reading on a topic or browsing porn, etc.) I'll have up to 10 or so.

At work I have about 6 tabs pinned like Gmail, Trello, calendar and others. Pinning tabs in Chrome makes them tiny so the bar is manageable. Keeping 400 tabs open is asking for crashes if any site has a memory leak.

Why don't any of you assholes just use bookmarks?

  8. That's what I'm thinking. Bookmark your tabs into folders for each project, then focus your attention to one project at a time. Close tabs, open next folder, repeat.

  9. Oh look, another attempt at trying to fix crazy. This time he'll listen, I just know it!

Main reason for me is that the icon flickers or changes when I get a message or email which is handy. I am also using these tabs daily throughout the week (all of my office software is online except Adobe) so bookmarking is disruptive to keeping an eye on them and accessing them. Small efficiencies I guess.

Pinning a tab makes it just an icon and shoves it to the far left so it's easy to manage too.
