He says "Who wants people from shithole countries?" and everyone is obsessed with his choice of words or whether or not these countries are fucked up, and few seem to be processing that the real problem is that he says he's holding the people to account for their countries being "shitty," which is just boilerplate racist thinking.

I have no dout that his views and motivations are racist, but the people saying his choice of words is racist are a bunch of hacks. Calling a shithole a shithole is about the least offensive thing he's said lately.
If he had said "People want to come here to escape the shitholes they were born in, and I want to give them every opportunity to do that legally" nobody would take issue with his choice of words.
