Thread: Spider-Man Homecoming July 2017

  1. That's a joke, son.

Strange was pretty good. Fantastic Beasts was better, kind of underlined the videogame-y nature of Marvel's movie conflicts. I'm not sure why the 'drone henchmen' never ever convey any personality whatsoever, but it's a billion dollar formula apparently!

  2. I liked Strange's "timeline scrub" controlling time like a youtube video—and the final standoff being a filibuster was legitimately clever—out foxing a god based on its ego? I find The Potterverse too zany for me so the entire duration it's hard to suspend my disbelief with the universe and get in to things. The monsters were well illustrated but I think it's the way characters are all kind of introvert anxious types—even the villain seemed pretty petty. I don't see them as people but rather stereotypes hamming it up for the camera.

Anyway I like the tone of this Spidey trailer though. Stark was even hilarious in the trailer (taking a break from his post-Avengers PTSD schtick). Even though the themes are retreads of Sony's previous attempts it seemed a lot more personable.

  3. I think the ending of Strange was great, and it serves to camouflage the mediocrity in the center.

  6. Warning: This trailer may give away the entire movie. Some great stuff though.

  7. Looks a lot better than I was expecting. I now have high hopes for this.

  8. It's got all the Oh Yeah I Recognize That stuff going for it, I hope the actual movie is good. Great Spider suit, still.

  9. Lookin' real good. Stark has turned into such a bitch, however.

  10. It looks ok?
