    Again, it just seems like lazy writing. If they really are 100% bio, how does anyone in the movieverse get away with not giving them rights? On what basis would any government not extend rights to an intelligent being with DNA?

    Because they're genetically engineered beings. Not sure why this is hard.

    What would be lazy is if they were robots and they couldn't find any way to detect that they aren't human other than doing a Voigt Kampf test.

    Being engineered isn't an excuse. You're talking about something smart enough to pass a citizenship test and with dna almost exactly like our own. We'd probably give rights to fucking dogs if they were smart enough to pass those test.

    It's lazy.

    wage slavery is a different topic

    Man, you guys have just about ruined this universe for me. Knowing they are just stupid clones and this all just commentary on copyright law is far less interesting than the robots and cybrogs of just about any other cyberpunk story.
