Astro Port's upcoming game, Rocketron, seems similar to Gunlord or Turrican from the screenshots and takes place before Steel Strider.
The main character is a 7m tall cybernetic warrior known as B.L.A.M., fighting against an evil cult called the Gogot Congregation.
Beside the regular shot, B.L.A.M. can use homing shurikens & napalm bullets.
Hopefully it won't be long before Nyu Media gets this one onto Steam/Playism etc. They've gotten a good share of AP games out here for a good price.
