I finally checked out the video. It's funny to hear the comments about heart beat with Space Invaders. The real reason behind the increased sound and movement pave within Space Invaders had to do with hardware limitations. The game increased in speed as less enemies were on screen, because it freed up hardware resources that allowed the game to run faster. This was a case of a hardware limitation creating a cool tense moment in video games.
