I just tried playing Rocket Knight Adventures, normal difficulty. I don't remember this game being this hard, I couldn't get past the train boss. Maybe I played on easy before since that's the default.

Your skills regressed. I noticed this all the time. I beat Contra the first day I bought it in late 80s (no knowledge of the infamous code). Can't do that any more.
