DST is bad for temperatures.
Right now, it means 1 more hour of cold in the morning in March & much of April. Same goes for October & early November.
If it gets too hot in summer like 95 degrees or higher, the sun setting an hour sooner would be a great relief. That probably explains why DST is generally not used in the Caribbean, except for a couple of places.

Crazy thought: one standard per time zone, wake up earlier or later in the day depending on your personal needs, never change it.

I only like DST in October when I get an extra hour of sleep. Let's skip the time change in March and keep rolling the clock back an hour every Oct.

Yeah, I like it too. It'd mean getting 2 days off for NY, not just 1. Just change everyone with 2/29 B'days to 3/1, no problem.

They should've made the calendar 13 months of 4 weeks each. What about that 365th day? New Year's Eve (this way, being 13/28 rather than 12/31) could then be 2 days long every year. This would leave New Year's to always hit on Sunday. Then New Years Day could be like you said. A 4 day holiday for New Year's? I'd love that.

Yeah, I think that's where I heard of it, the 13 month calendar. I don't know, it makes sense like a metric system, every 1st is a Monday or something. But it's a big overhaul to convert to. But while we're dreaming, there it is.
