  3. I mean probably not, but some of those new compilation or reprint carts that have been coming out have issues. The main one being using 3.3v memory chips on a 5v system with out proper level adjustment. There was an article last year about it, basically it probably won't cause a problem but it could theoretically shorten the life of your console. Then the SF reprint cart got announced and had a warning attached to it that "it might set your system on fire and to use at your own risk." I guess the biggest offenders and ones you really shouldn't use are the big 160 in 1 famicom and NeoGeo multicarts.

Here's the article if you want to read it https://db-electronics.ca/2017/07/05...etro-consoles/

I don't know how far down the rabbit hole you want to go but there is a flash cart called the SD2SNES, which allows you to put rom files onto an SD card and run that on your SNES. It can run almost all of the games with just a few of the specialty chip games not being supported. Though Super FX support just got added in beta form, leaving just SA-1 as the big one that's missing. S-DD1 isn't either but the two games that use this have uncompressed roms out there that will work. I like to pick up cheap SFC JRPGs, and then play the English translations of them on my SD2SNES.

Got this yesterday thanks to SSJN.

I picked one of these up for my famicom.

Reviews say it works perfectly for the original famicom systems. It was only a few dollars more than a raw pcb 72 to 60 pin converter and actually less than some of the converts that come with a shell. Also, it looks a bit stouter, so it hopefully there will be less risk of snapping something in half when I build a famicom NES game tower.

  5. Few pick ups from the last time I was out of town. Been really lucky with Genesis finds of late, completely forgot Dracula was a psygnosis title akin to Shadow of the Beast not a mess like the more well known Sega CD version. Was happy to find a cheap Forza 2 360. I realize it’s parred down it I have zero interest in a Xbox One so it’ll do.

  6. SGB2 arrived! Tried it on Super NT and my "modded" (tabs removed) SNES and it works great. Had a test 2p game of Tetris to test the link port and that works great too.

  7. Picked up 2 Choose Your Own Adventure books, and a Fighting Fantasy Gamebook from yard sale.

Bought House of the Dead 3, Count Lucanor, and Home from PSN flashsale.

Got one of these on Amazon thanks to the Earth week sale, used item was actually new with a slightly worn box.

It's interesting comparing this to my small New 3ds. In a lot of ways it's not quite as good, particularly the screen which isn't quite as high quality as the smaller unit, but it's still decent and it's BIG.

As a pleasant surprise though, the buttons are a little bigger making action games a but easier. Overall I think I'm gonna keep this one and sell the small one.

  9. I can’t go backwards to an xl now that I’ve got a small fry. But I do want to switch over to a 2ds xl. The white on my small3ds doesnt look very white (did it ever?) and I don’t like how drab it looks.
I really want a 2ds xl, but not any of the ones they have on the market. Probably wont see another design before they end it, but I’d like one.
