I understand the discussion appeal, but can’t you that without paying for something that doesn’t exist yet?

No more than you can pay for a day of HBO.

Years ago, they offered individual episodes for $5, but the season pass was cheaper and used to come with bonus stuff and a la carte episodes eventually went away.

I can understand how, after successfully delivering over 25 seasons of content, people would trust Telltale to finish the job.

  3. Hi, I work for a cable company. You can pay for a day of HBO. It's annoying as fuck but we've got people who call in and actually order porn channels for an afternoon, and seeing as we charge by the day it zeroes out. It used to take a ton of abuse to get an account locked, but now we don't even bother any more. So long as the person calls back and removes the channel the same day, there's no charge.

  4. Skybound games is going to finish up the final 2 chapters of The Walking Dead.

    I wouldn't buy a promise of a game.

I did get their Batman game for Switch on sale as a complete product. It was actually pretty good.

  6. "a promise of a game" is how the entire episodic gaming thing works. The only difference here is studio troubles.

  7. I’m pretty sure Skybound will complete it. They’ve hired members of the team from Telltale Games. Telltale probably offered Skybound a sweet deal to take over the franchise.

  8. Who cares. All of the talented people already have better jobs, probably. And the rest go back to their parents and try again.

What would be interesting is if Skybound keeps that staff together after the completion of this game. Could be a shot at a leaner, more efficient Telltale unbound by management's stupid decisions.

  10. Keeping a crew together is something corporations never see the value in. Ever.
