God, that turret boss really is that bad. Unforgivable.

Pause-scummed the heck out of it because you actually have to be good at this game to finish it otherwise. Is it just me or are the controls uniquely slippery in MM1?

I have only ever finished MM1 and MM2. MM2 was a cake walk compared to MM1, but I heard MM2 was neutered here.

Not really neutered, the harder difficulty in the US version is the same as the Japanese version. "Normal" is easy mode. Either way it's easier than MM1.

Definitely not just you. It takes a uniquely long time to hit full speed in MM1.

Yeah, MM1 is definitely more slippery. They tightened it up for 2.

A friend of mine started a youtube walkthrough of Mega Man 1 like 3 years ago. You should check it out, it's surely done by now.

I genuinely dislike Mega Man 1. They certainly made a game, but they came back and made a good game with 2.

That cover should be considered "warning coloration".
