That wave race story is cute.
This is tough. I'll have to put some deep thought into this.
What’s so special about Omega Race NeoZeedeater? It was a very average arcade game to me.

I listed it for the VIC-20 port which I like much more than the arcade game. It lets you do much more with the gameplay with its mid air stops and other little tricks. Those probably weren't intentionally programmed in. I find the game addictive; it's just something I keep going back to decades later.

Only let myself make a couple of edits, but yeah I moooostly followed the same criteria as ARBM. Tried to hit a bunch of genres and mostly stick to high skill ceiling stuff, dumb multiplayer fun, or stuff with high variety. Some of them are already questionable to me lol
Since it came out it's been the fighting game my circle of friends has played the most of. They're a lot more into fighting games in general than I am, though.
swap it with Third Strike and that's fine too
30 games? pfft.
That's 10x more than I need.
1. Crusader Kings II. I've never even booted this game. It just seemed way intimidating. But if I've only 3 games to focus on, this seems like a good one to have. Alternatively, one of the Civilizations would work here too for the same reasoning.
2. Dragon Quest Builders. I've put around 20 hours into this, and haven't even cleared the first chapter of the story mode. Minecraft with some decent wallpaper. I can spend hours and hours grinding dumb materials to build my ultimate world. Alternatively, No Man's Sky would work here too.
3. Sega 3D Classics. Here's my Norton's Shakespeare. For when I just want some twitchy fun. Alternatively, if we're going to outlaw compilations I think I could play Rez endlessly. Given enough time, it may even teach me some rhythm.
I could do three.
Tetris & Dr. Mario (SNES)
Doom II (PC)
Super Street Fighter II Turbo (CPS2)
This is tough, but I'm definitely paring down on some games next move.
