Bloodborne definitely had those aspects to it. The camera around huge bosses was really fucking shitty, and a lot of attacks couldn't be easily seen. I still learned it and did it, even doing the trash chalice dungeons for the trophy, but I feel like it took longer than it should have if the game had better bosses.

I would call Bloodborne my favorite game and Sekiro improves on it pretty much everywhere. You can still run past most stuff, and the camera sucks really bad in some spots, but checkpoints are frequent (no need to run for minutes to the boss), there are WAY fewer large bosses, and you can parry/counter pretty much everything. There are some half-baked ideas and a lot of re-used boss enemies, but the gameplay was great. It's less obtuse, also, it gives you tutorial prompts and a training dummy to learn the mechanics. Definitely the most Punch-Out of FromSoft.

I stopped playing Bloodborne at the Cheating Interdimensional Worm Thing, but I did enjoy how the bosses all had tells.

I was prepared to but the copy I bought had a dead battery in it and I never put much time into it. Maybe with some VB emulation in VR some day I will give it another go.
