Thread: Playdate- New Ultra-Indie Handheld

  1. E-ink refresh rate is a joke so it can't be that.

  2. I could think of much better things to spend $150 on.

  3. I loved my TE OP1, but when the used market shot up to $1300 I loved the money more. I’m interested because of the Teenage Engineering side, but I can’t imagine buying this.
    Boo, Hiss.

This just made my day. Lol, thanks.

Yes, I read the sales pitch, thank you.

  7. The crank doesn't charge it, that seems like an oversight. That's the first thing anybody will ever ask, followed by "is there a fishing game".

  8. They actually addressed that elsewhere- the amount of resistance in a generator-thingy (I'm paraphrasing here) would make the crank unusable for gaming. It needs to spin near-effortlessly to work as a controller. Seeing as it's a B&W screen I can't imagine it will need to recharge all that frequently.

  9. Are you on their street team

Yeah I'm on board with this also. This is just... weird.
