  2. Ok so I saw this in my email. It's rare I even see reported posts anymore but honestly I can't really figure out what Fe is talking about. I mean well I guess he's kinda on topic but he sort of went into a ramble at the end of it with some weird science or data?

I don't know. I'm in the cross roads of not even bothering to do anything to him and I doubt cka, Sleeve or any of the other mods wants to do anything either. These days I just murder spam bots that slip thru the cracks and let you guys talk about whatever it is you want to as long as it's not totally 100% off the rails.

P.S. I can see the picture also. Not supposed to be posted on the main forums but Rumpy deleted it and well it's kinda tame from FE's Dick-Shitting-Nipples pictures so I'm just going to ignore it.

Edit: After all these years I finally made a Twitter account and honestly I only use it to follow gaming companies I like and that's it.

How is what I said off topic? This is literally in the first post:

If he really wants to break this habit, there is a book on breaking or changing habits. "The power of habit."

Part of breaking a habit is figuring out what the reward is. The reward is probably the dopamine release of finding something novel. Or a stimulant release from being angry or scared.

  4. I was bored and reported you. Then I was bored and reported myself.
It was quite a dopamine rush anticipating my red card, and TNL failed to even come through for that.

Or they enjoy the rush of their own outrage or fear. People get an adrenaline rush from anger and fear. People get addicted to that to. Look at the comments of any news feed. This kind of addiction also helps kill you because the stress is bad for your body and helps to create cortisol.

If you really want to get better you can try the book "power of habit." It breaks down habits into their pieces and discusses how you can create new habits. There are summaries online and the book also has a summary in the appendix. It does work. I used it to help lose all that weight and to get off my home computer for 3 months.
Yes new information is a vice. It’s why people love clickbait so much and why we scroll through reddit and YouTube for hours. I will look at your book, the dark nature of capitalism means these human tendencies are exploited.

  7. I had a lot more “habits” when I was still using a desktop than I do now just using the phone as my primary. Sitting at the computer was ritualistic and I’d often follow the same patterns every time (like checking news sites first, then to Facebook, logging onto IRC, etc.). I always like to go on the BBC World News app and check the news and sometimes will do so out of habit even though I’ve already looked at most of the articles of interest. I was also going through my Facebook feed and finding articles there and was particularly into baiting Trump-crazy conservatives on their pages but I’ve pretty much pulled myself away from Facebook. I still have it and will make posts on special occasions (had an anniversary with the lady last week for example) and I’ll “like/love” pics that Melanie posts of herself, us, or the baby but that’s pretty much the extent of it these days. Other than that, not a whole lot of habitual online behavior at current.

CGTalk and Procreate are where I lurk. Procreate is a drawing app I've been using recently.

I actually only really post when I'm bored... these last two days I've been shut in with a cold/fever and here I am posting on TNL a couple of times. When my week is busy or I'm traveling (for work, or vacay) I don't post quite as often. Though I've willfully reduced my time on the internet in general though.
