Looks like that mysterious figure glimpsed at the end of that one episode set on Tatooine was indeed Boba Fett. Word is that Temuera Morrison is returning to play him in season 2.

Yeah, Temuera was looking pretty old and portly in Aquaman. Unless he's been training it's probably for the best they get someone else to play the part physically or it'll be like the laughable DeNiro scenes in The Irishman all over again. The Mandalorian is only supposed to take place a couple of years after Return of the Jedi, after all.
I was really hoping that they'd ignore The stupid bullshit Lucas pulled by re-dubing Fett in the original trilogy with Morrison's voice go with the Eastwood voice again, but I guess not. Really dumb decision...I know Fett is supposed to be Jango's clone and all, but it's not like you can genetically inherit an accent.

The story of the sarlaac pit is that nobody escapes and is consumed over a very tortuous long time. A book (Disney calls all of that as not being canon), describes Boba using a Jedi (of all people) to use the force to convince the Sarlaac to squeeze his jet pack, leading to an explosion that releases him. But, Disney says that none of that is canon now, and if a Jedi can’t escape, WTF?!
