I think you're all missing the point. MetalSlug is obviously suffering from an acute form of retardation that only allows him to participate in threads pertaining to "Metal Slug" games and or other obscurities that make him "special". Other symptoms include the urge to post incessantly about Ikaruga and other "Treasure" games.

The blame can largely be put on what I call "GameFan Syndrome". After the departure of their messiah, ECM, the flock continued to delve into obscurity all the while hoping to be acknowledged as being "different". Unkowingly to them, their "hardcore" attitude only hurts the domestic gaming industry therefore giving them a chance to bash the same companies that they help hurt financially.

That being said, Long live the hardcore gamer and his retarded ways!

There's nothing wrong with seeking out the obscure. I love discovering games I've never heard of before, and finding something new where I never expected to find it. I was seeking out obscure games/books/music in search of quality material that doesn't get much attention long, long before I came into contact with Gamefan, ECM, or GameGO!.

Yeah, I seek out the obscure, but I also end up buying plenty of US games. Most of my library consists of domestic games, really. So despite my tastes, I can assure you I'm not hurting the domestic market in any way.

Besides, it's my choice what games I buy. I'm not "hurting" the industry if I happen to buy the import version of a game over the domestic version. I have no loyalty to the publishers/distributors on either side of the Pacific (or Atlantic). I'll buy games from any territory I damn well want to.

Haha... that's so true. Tho I would also argue that NG CD people don't deserve any NG games either... *cough*

That being said, I don't own a Neo, but if it came out for DC, I'd certainly pick it up. More variety never hurts. And I'll be the first to say, who the heck cares if it comes stateside...

Despite the catch 22, there will -never- be a day where all the games you want will be released in the US, so why bother? I'm sorry, but I don't give a crap about a market who only gets some of the more popular games and will edit them, screw up their translations, and sometimes take it upon themselves to modify the original game to make it "better".

  7. And the Dreamcast circle...
*draws a circle in the air*
    ...would be complete.

Many of us who were around when the GameGO! boards started didn't treat ECM as a "messiah"—I personally found many of his comments to be questionable--he is just a person...a gamer like the rest of us...

Metal Slug likes to post about the stuff he likes--so what? And I haven't heard MS bash much of anything--he's a pretty easy going poster on these boards. And what's all this "hardcore" crap--who ever started that phrase anyway?

What's your point anyway? Are you just trying to piss people off?

First off, this is total bullshit. I know it, you know it, ever troll that trolled that board knows it. Even his damned co-workers knew it.

Secondly, If my screenname was "RadiantSilvergun" or "DBZVegta" and all I posted was about Radiant Silvergun and DragonBallZ respectively, you'd pretty much know what the next words to come out of my mouth would be. As for easy going, of course, we already know what to expect out of him, he's predictable like anyone else who take a product as their namesake.

    Hardcore? don't be delusional.

All I can say is that I didn't worship him--hell I didn't even know who he was until I got into GameGO! (never read GameFan)--and to be honest I was more interested on his work as a video game editor (I'm an editor hoping to get into gaming industry someday) and not so much on his role as a "messiah"...
But yes some did worship him--and no not all did--and besides this is not GameGO! and most of the "flock'" as you call them has moved on...

Well I use ssbomberman and have literally talked about it like twice on these boards--and usually only when mentioned...I mean these are just gaming boards and if he likes talking about these things than why not let him? If you don't like it just avoid it...

I never said he was hardcore or that anyone was--it's a stupid term--who cares--we're all on these boards because we like gaming...nothing more nothing less...

I just don't get all the negativity when none was generated towards you or anyone in the first place...I mean we're talking about gaming here...why does everything have to be so serious?
