  1. Super Ghouls and Ghosts for the GBA.

    Just wondering if anyone else imported this ageless platformer. I forgot how tough this game was.
    The game still looks fantastic, and I completely forgot how awesome the soundtrack is.

    There's an arranged mode that allows you to play levels released in the arcade version. I never even played the arcade version.

    Castlevania:HoD, G&G, what next? Oh, Yoshi's Island. Looks like my top-10 of 2002 will host a ton of GBA games...again.

    I was going through Eternal Darkness a second time; too bad I picked up GG--now I can't put it down.

    UN Squadron next, please...

    I have this game, and can offer up a few thoughts...

    The extra levels are actually original. Some of them may resemblee a thing or two from the previous games, but they are indeed new. You can really see the difference graphically...

    Another long-overdue feature is that you can SAVE the stage you're at as well as your armor level. (so if you save at stage 3 with Gold armor, you'll have it when you load up your saved game.)

    I still enjoy it, even with the slowdown that plagued the SNES version, it's a solid game that will tide over folks who really don't care about Maximo.

  3. All new levels, huh? Didn't know that.
    On one hand, the save feature is welcome and much needed; however, I tip my hat to the gamers who tamed this beast back in the day.

    I was hoping for some art work in the manuel, only becasue the box art was so cool.
    I guess that's why Capcom designs those art books every year or so.

    FYI, there was no arcade version. Super Ghouls N' Ghosts went straight to the SNES; the "arcade" levels come from Ghouls N' Ghosts, or so dcharlie tells me.

    And he would be telling you the truth. SGnG was SNES only.

  8. I just picked up a GC/GB player and a few GBA games.

    Super Ghouls' N Ghosts Question:

    Anyway, I was wondering how do you access the new levels in arranged mode for this game.

    The manual says once you clear a stage, you can choose which one you want to go to next. I've cleared a couple of stages, and it gives me no such choice. It automatically goes to the next one, just like in original mode. Maybe I'm pressing the wrong button, I'm not sure.
    For example, after I kill the bird thing that spits the eggs, it automatically starts me in the water level.

    So does anyone know? I'm just anxious to try the new levels.

  9. As a sidenote, you must play Maximo if you like this game. It's fantastic and you can get it for 15 bucks. Well worth it.
