Anyone played this Game Gear game? I'm wondering if it's any good. I think it got good reviews back when it came out.

I wonder if there was any Koshiro involvement with Defenders. I know Yuzo can make great Game Gear tunes because his Sonic soundtrack was very good.
Damn you. I thought this was news on a sequal to Legend of Oasis (Thor 2).

Defenders of Oasis was the best, err, only straight-up console RPG the Game Gear ever had. Their were strat/RPGs (Shining Force: Sword of Hajya, Crystal Warriors) and action/RPGs (Ax Battler) but this was the only traditional console RPG on the system.
The battle's were straightforward, Dragon Warrior/PS1-style, still pictures of enemies, status boxes with HP and MP representing your characters. The game was fairly long, with an interesting little story. Plus, it used a really cool, Arabian Nights-esque theme you don't see much in games.
If you own a Game Gear, and love RPGs, I highly reccommend it![]()
omg TNL epics!
I was going to start a thread on this game, but there already is one. This game is absolutely a blast. One of my favorite RPGs is the original Phantasy Star, and DoA is in that vein but better. I whole-heartedly recommend this game to any fans of Phantasy Star who have a GameGear.
Praying for a Cosmic Fantasy Collection for PS2, Xbox and GameCube.
