My guess is that it is the tournament version used for Star Fox Weekend. It's similar to the caravan games for the PC Engine.

  4. I've talked to some friends and they're down, so it looks like I'll be going
What games are you looking forward to in the tournament? I want to try Soul Calibur 2, Smash Bros Melee, Halo, Star Fox, and Gunstar Heroes. I want to win the Gunstar tournament, so I'm going to do alot of practicing. The guy running the tournament said he is up to suggestions, I'm thinking about seeing if I can get some Worms, Powerstone 2 and Virtua Tennis action going.

Yes! Finally a MAGfest thread! Can hardly wait until September.

Sadly though, I'm only going to be there for one night (Sat.) guys, since my only real reason for gonig is to finally see The Minibosses live. But if anybody's up for watching Captain N: The Game Master at 2 AM on Sunday, you'll know where to find me!

  6. It sounds sweet, but I'm still undecided.

I'm about 800 miles away, and I REALLY would not be in a good mood if I drove all the way down there and it sucked.

    Anybody been before?

  7. Nope, Nemo. This is its first year.

*is going to request a Tetris Attack/PPL tourney*

  8. Hmm...

Might have to wait to see when the page is updated more then, because I'm not sure it's quite worth the drive just yet.

  9. It looks like a great idea that could either turn into a great weekend or a total dud - which is a hell of a gamble with 800 miles on the line. Anyway, unless you have a group going, why wouldn't you just fly? Then again, I doubt flights into Roanoke are cheap.

  10. Yea, thats pretty much how I feel about the whole thing, and the potential for bust is a bit high with it being the first one.

It would be me and the g/f, so we were planning on bringing the car so we could take a little "mini-vacation" on the drive out/back. Stop along the way, shop, relax a bit, etc...
