Thread: The best TV for a gamer on a budget.

  1. Panasonic is the best electronics company out there. If you need a TV, Microwave, Can Opener, DVD Player, Disk Man, whatever, buy Panasonic/Matsushita.

I have a Panasonic TV and it is pretty good, thing it like 7 years old and still works great The only problem I had with it was the image has a slight distortion on the edges but that is present with all tube TV's.

  3. I agree about the Panasonic thing. They make great TVs. I have a 32 inch that I absolutly love. It was my pimary DVD, game, and cable TV untill I got my RGB monitor and moved in with my current housemate who has a 36 inch screen of his own. Now, my Panasonic is quite happy running a second Playstation in my house's dedicated DDR room (nice concreate floor). It also runs any older systems that don't output RGB (N64, PC Engine, TG16).

  4. Since when does a PC Engine not output RGB?

    Since.....forever. You gotta' mod em'.

  6. Ok, I went to Sears and saw the JVC model Amerilop mentioned. I am in love. This TV is freakin' awesome! It has composite input, S-video input, and three AV inputs! The screen looks great and the whole thing just looks sexy as hell. This payday is going to be a good day for me!

    Melf, where do you live?

On August the 18th they run a national associate night where only friends and family members can attend. Everyone gets 10 percent and you need a ticket to get in. If you lived close, I would give you my ticket. But if you don't, bug the salesman to give you a ticket, saying that you will make sure he gets his commission. Most of the time they give out way more tickets then an associate can give to his family or friends.

It's worth a shot for 30 something bucks.

  8. What about if I want a TV that either has the widescreen dimensions or can switch to widescreen mode (not just letterboxed full frame).

Any ideas for a guy who is not made of money? I'm pretty sure I have seen some Sony TVs that have a widescreen option but I'm really intrigued by the though of a widescreen TV. Thoughts?

  9. Damn. I'd be happy as a clam with 10%. That's about $63 off the retail price (sale ends tomorrow ). I don't get the cash until about the 28th though.

Still, I can debut the new TV with Mario Sunshine.

Depends on how much your looking to spend. Samsung broke some price barriers by putting a 30" Widescreen at the 1299.99 mark. It's a good price but still expensive for many.
