Thread: Best Movie Box Art

  1. Anything by Drew Struzan. He's done tons of them. Otherwise, the ones for Detroit Rock City and the Flint movies (In Like Flint, Our Man Flint) stand out in my mind.

Also, I like movie poster art to be, y'know, art, or at least artsy. Not just a big headshot of the star(s). But I long for the days when most every poster was crafted by artists, rather than having people just cut and paste promo pics in Photoshop.

I especially hate when the movie poster is a great piece of art, but then they change it to a generic photo or photo collage for the video release. I refuse to get the Phantom Menace until they release one that has Struzan's poster art on it.

  2. Struzan is good. The Star Wars DVD would be alot better with his poster on it. He's done so many it's hard to pick the best one, but his Temple of Doom poster rocked major ass. The Evil Dead SE was cool, but is more of a gimmick than true box art. Whatever movie it is, it must have a cool color scheme.
