Thread: Get your Gridrunner on

  1. Get your Gridrunner on

Yak has finished up his latest game, Gridrunner++ and it's now up for purchase/download, or you can check out a demo at:

    http://www.llamasoft.co.uk/Gridrunner/grdl.html

    Good, straight-forward, pick-up-and-play, shooty action!

I give it TWO SNAPS UP!

  2. Why is this game absolutley different from Gridrunner. Are the games related in anyway? Because they are nothing a like. And I played the demo for this game, wicked fun!

So when you purchase it you download the full version? How big is the download? I am a 56k user so it matters. Help from you would be greatly appreciated.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  3. There's a Gridrunner history included in the game. It goes as follows:

Gridrunner was originally created for the unexpanded Vic-20 in 1982. The game proved popular in both the UK and the US, and versions were created for the Atari 8-Bit and Commodore 64 systems.

A sequel, Matrix, followed shortly (and was released as Attack of the Mutant Camels in the US). Towards the end of the 8-Bit era, a further sequel, Voidrunner, was released for the Commodore 16.

The 16-Bit era saw the release of an update version - Super Gridrunner - for the Atari ST and Amiga systems.

Gridrunner++ brings the game up to date with insanely fast and challenging action and particle pyrotechnics - whilst retaining the simple pick-up-and-play purity of the game that inspired it.

Enjoy - and grab those sheepies!
Pardon any misspellings as I quickly retyped that from out of the program

Yeah, when you purchase the game they email you with a download link. It costs just over $7, which is a steal if you ask me!

The download is 2.87 MB. Shouldn\'t be TOO much of a bear on 56k.

  4. Hmmm, well I guess I only knew of Gridrunner for PSOne. The game where you are a guy who runs around in a Pac-Man esque maze grabbing flags before the other guy in the maze grabs them or steals them from you.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  5. Yeah, that PS game has nothing to do with these "real" GR games, other than the same name. I forgot it existed, actually!
