Dragon Warrior 4 + Final Fantasy 1+2 remake questions

Just a few questions regarding some PS1 RPG's:

Dragon Warrior 4 is cancelled correct? or was it just the domestic version?

Final Fantsay Remake 1+2 hasn't been annonunced for a stateside release correct? What are the chances of seeing it or has it even been announced? I'd love to see it make it to the PS1. Who's getting the limited edition? Anyone know how much it is?

    Thanks For any Feedback...

  2. The PSone Dragon Warrior 4 is cancelled here, a GBA version is due next year and may come here.

I'm doubting Final Fantasy is coming here but would like to be proven wrong. *-neo

    Thanks neo.

I really was looking forward to the PSX DW.

  4. Dragon Warrior IV was cancelled only in the USA, in Japan it was already released under Dragon Quest IV which is the title it originally had before they changed it to Dragon Warrior for the USA.

Final Fantasy 1 and 2 have a better chance then Dragon Warrior IV did, seeing Squaresoft did the re-releases of Final Fantasy IV, V, VI and Chrono Trigger all in the USA and Squaresoft doesn't have alot of titles scheduled for the USA right now it is a real good chance we will see them.

I am getting the Limited Edition which may be a big surprise to some on these boards NCS has it listed as $90, the LE has both Final Fantasy 1 and 2 plus figures in a special package, seeing the games are $39 seperately that isn't that bad a deal

Thanks Werewolf. What are the figures that come with the set, and is there anything else?

I really the FF remakes come out here... I will be getting it either way, but it would be nice to be able to play without a translation guide.

From what I can tell it is just both games in a special box that includes 3 figures and possibly special Amano artwork on the CD's, they did the special Amano artwork on the Final Fantasy Collection CD's that where completely different from the seperate released versions which weren't as nice.

  8. Taken from EGM, October 2002 issue, Press Start, page 32:

...That's because Square is rereleasing Final Fantasy 1 and 2 - but only in Japan (yet again, the U.S. gets the shaft, as Square has no plans to release these gems here).
Nuts to this, I say, but I wouldn't count it out completely. The only reason Square released FFIV/Chrono Trigger here (in all its shitty-port glory ) was due to the demand by fans. History could be repeated, but I don't see it happening. In any case, I'll do my part and email Square asking for these games to be localized.

  9. I'm hoping that with Square still recovering from the movie divisions losses, that will increase our chances of seeing FF1/2 remakes.

The screenshots I've seen of the redone graphics make me droooool...

  10. Here is what I heard from my contact at Squaresoft, he is a good guy and I was able to meet him at this years E3

As far as Final Fantasy 1 & 2 for the PlayStation, we haven't received any official news at this time. I have been reading about it on the internet, but we have not verified these plans. However, I do think there is a good possibility that this may happen. Sorry for the limited information.
Sounds somewhat promising, just cross your fingers and send emails to support@squaresoft.com to let them you know you want them
