If they stay in Montréal, Vlad will become a free agent after next season..... and he is the best player in the game so... it's going to be insanely hard to keep him, unless MLB gets a system that will help them afford a player of his calibre (that's true for all the small market teams and their star players though). If things are status quo, there is no way the Spos can keep Vlad past his free acency age.
Anyway, if MLB gets fixed, there isa chance because the team will have more money to pay players and he loves Montréal and does not want to play in a media spotlight so, he might give the Spos a "hometown discount".
