Thread: Time Splitters 2

  1. Time Splitters 2

There's a level of TimePlitters 2 on the current Xbox Demo disk, the first time I played it, I sucked and thought, "this game sucks" then I really tried it and now I'm addicted to the demo. Am I the only one eagerly awaiting its release on 9/24/02 or whenever its release is?

I like the look of the characters, at first glance I got the feeling of Jak and Daxter in a FPS adventure (don't ask why, I was half asleep at the time) but I like the way Free Radical pulled it off, it uses a nice Color Palette so far, and I love to snipe the guys at the top of the Dam.

  2. I'm sorta 'eh', I screwed around at E3 with the various demos they had on show, and it didn't look monumentally more impressive than the first one... I think I'm still in the "this game sucks" camp

I might give it a rental though, we had some fun multiplayer with the first one.

  3. I've never played the first one, so maybe thats why I had so much fun with this demo.

  4. When I got the demo, I was really only anticipating playing Gunmetal. Sure, I'd probably play Timesplitters 2 and say "That was kinda fun. Nothing I'd buy, but kinda fun". Well, the first time I put in the demo disc, I ended up not playing anything. Turns out OXM sent me a disc that didn't work. Fortunately, I was able to get another one within the next few days.

Well, to make a short story shorter, I liked Timesplitters 2 much more than Gunmetal, though I enjoyed Gunmetal quite a bit as well. It felt like Goldeneye...except fun. All the objectives were cool as hell(especially destroying the evidence in the file cabinets. I loved putting a mine on them, walking out of the building, and watching the windows shatter) and the level design seemed just plain fun. I love how everything just goes crazy at the very end...though I wish you could have fought that helicopter boss. Gives you a good reason to buy the game, though, I guess.

I'll probably buy it sometime. Probably won't pay full price, just because there are better games I could pay full price on. Once it drops to $30 or so, I'm there.

The first Timesplitters was awesome, and the new one looks to be even better than the original so yes, I am pretty excited about TS2.

But with Super Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, and Super Monkey Ball coming out I doubt I will have the money to get it for some time.

  8. I've only tried the PS2 demo so far, and I was suprised how much I was enjoying it. More then Medal of Honor, that's for sure (hyper sensitive aiming hurts that game). It really does feel like Goldeneye, at least the demo level does. With all the talk of monkeys and other insanity, I was just expecting a goofy game, but the espionage elements really add to it.

  9. I wish it had an aiming scheme like Halo.

That game really ruined all other console FPS for me.
