Thread: Strikers 1945 II: of Monkeys and Men

  1. 1,190,600 -- DarkCrow676 / F5U (Flying Pancake) -- ALL

  2. Stage? Also, please use the format employed by the actual chart -- saves me a bit of trouble that way.

  3. 1,190,600 -- DarkCrow676 / F5U (Flying Pancake) -- ALL

    hope thats better

  4. Normal:

    871,900 -- Kaneda / Ki84 (Hayate) -- 1-7

Don't know why I waited so long to pick this one up, it's already one of my favorites. After a day's play I managed a decent score, too. 2-1 seems so far away...

  5. Hm, no update? Here's a new score anyways:

    Normal:

    873,700 -- Kaneda / Ki84 (Hayate) -- 1-7

  6. Sorry for the delay, Kaneda -- never even saw that first submission.

  7. Whee..I break into the competition!!!

Well what do you know. I don't totally suck at this game.

    699,000 Flying pancake 1-7

I suck at medaling, my score should be higher than that...

  8. 658,200 -- danhaigh / Ki84 (Hayate) -- 1-6

Figured I'd jump in on this too, though I'll just be eating jef's dust. That score comes from a death against the 1-6 boss. It also comes from rampant bombing, since I have no idea what I'm doing on either 1-5 or 1-6. Progress is going to require actually learning those stages. Not to mention learning the boss attacks that I stumble through or bomb through right now.

  9. 786,700 -- danhaigh / Ki84 (Hayate) -- 1-7

Look, I'm already a gaming geek, but I feel like even more of a loser when I have back-to-back posts in a thread. *sigh*

This game is slowly becoming less of a bomb-fest for me as I start to gain comfort with 1-5 onward. Frankly, should be doing more bombing, since this run ended with 2 rapid-fire deaths against a 1-7 midboss (the second one, "the claw is my master" one).

Rank hoses me badly. My practice on stages 5+ comes from continuing and starting over on the stage, which means it's all at low rank. When I actually reach the bosses with any respectable rank, things are different enough to kick me in the crotch.

Also a few spots where I have to kill the boss quickly, because after his first few attacks, I have no idea what I'm doing. Like on stage 5. If he keeps his arms long enough, he does these repeated white bullet waves, first from one side, then the other. (It comes just after this) I haven't a clue where to hide. If I don't take them out before that point, it's bomb-time.

As for "the claw is my master", what's the key to this attack? Positioning myself just above the bottom of the screen gets me killed every time. There seems to be a spot just above that, but I can't find it with any consistency.

  10. I haven't a clue where to hide.
Move above the pattern and point-blank him.

Actually, I suppose a picture is probably in order for that one:

This is from original 1 mode, but I'd suspect that it works much the same in tate. That pattern has an incredible number of holes in it, but staying high on the screen as shown allows you to dish out extra damage and prevents having to dodge it twice.
