Honestly guys, on my TV with its awesome filters there's harly a difference at all. And it's not like there's actually anything to play on GameCube anyway.

I own would pwn Mark with an explanation on composite, but someone else here could do a better job, and his TV rocks + he plays ZoE 2. Go MR.
i remember when i made the jump Beyond Good and Evil was like night and day. SOOOOOO much better. and im using a $5 cable for my ps2.Originally Posted by JMET
I need to pick up some component cables, for Xbox and PS2. My lovely little Walmart TV surprisingly supports component and I'm dying to make the switch.
do it.....make haste woman!
No explanation needed. I actually have component cables for my Xbox since I'm out of composite inputs, and I checked it out with both the component and composite cables to see if I could tell a difference. I couldn't make out much. Definitely not enough to justify spending $40-50 replacing the cables for my other systems.
Because my TV rocks, composite looks awesome as-is.
Component is only good when you run thu progressive scan, otherwise it hardly makes a difference.Originally Posted by MarkRyan

Yo if you are happy, then that's all that matters, but honestly saying composite is no different than component, unless using progressive is like saying Betamax is no different than DVD.Originally Posted by voltz
Progressive does add a lot, and honestly on interlaced sets, s-video is probably the best you need to go, but on HDTV - composite and s-video is the kiss of death -- either VGA or component only for me, cause otherwise, it looks like ass!!!
Using regular component (non-progressive):
Colors are rich and full, you get almost perfect RGB, not that washed out mess you get with composite. Edges are sharp (but not too sharp, turn down your sharpness, you don't need it). NO DOT CRAWL! Jaggies will be in full glorious view!
I have to say that on interlaced sets you can get away with a lot and composite for some people is fine, so fine then, it's your preference. But BTW, you can get component cables for under 10 bucks for most systems...and s-video for under 10 for the others...so it's not a bank breaker...
My only thing is, you buy a really freaking nice TV and then don't use it to its max...like my mother in law just got a 50 inch freaking HDTV and hooked up her shit via composite! I was like, WTF are you doing, either return the TV or hook it up properly.
"50,000! You scored 50,000 points on Double Dragon?"
I'm getting a 27" I'Art and I was wondering what I should plug my consoles under. It has S-Video and Component inputs, I have no clue which one it is thats the big diff but I wouldnt mind dishing out the extra cash, if it'll be a significant difference.
