Hold up, let me get my gay beret and black longsleeved beatnik shirt.
Of course Macs are better...even though we rely on everything that's ported over from PCs.
Ashod: Me and most other people use a 56k dial-up line, so most of us aren't going to check out the video.
It's nothing about my "ignorance" (and I find it hard to believe to offend someone over saying "Macs blow". It's a type of computer, not your mother.)Comments like that are one way tickets out of any worthy debate.
Present an argument against something in an intelligent and thought out matter and you'll get a lot more people paying attention. One word insults don't prove any kind of point, unless your point is to display your ignorance.
But then again, why on earth would anyone bait a forum like this? This ridiculous argument has been going on since 1984...
I said that simply to sum up my feelings on the issue of my experiences with Macs (sluggish no matter what program I've used). Plus I didn't want to debate that issue, this thread is about those videos that were posted (that were funny) and the fact that PC's are better for gaming than Macs (the first video sums it up perfectly, and is very funny). This topic has been done to death, so there was really nothing more I could contribute to this thread (as it got derailed) without helping it to run in circles.
With the exception that if your nice new video card is too fast for your processor, your CPU becomes the bottleneck. The greatest card in the world won\'t help your games if your CPU can\'t keep up.CPU Processing power has almost nothing to do with the graphical output of a Graphics card.
Hehe... "You can play games like Warcraft III..."
Silence.
Bwahaha... I thought this was a serious Switch video at first! LOL!![]()

My next computer is going to be a Mac. Why? Because Mac OS X rocks. Because the iSuite of applications are awesome. Because Windows XP is just playing catchup.
Apple's OS design and technology is probably 3-10 years ahead of Windows. Firewire? DVD-Burning? Yea, Apple didn't invent these things, but they popularized it. I remember when everybody made fun of Apple for not putting a floppy into the iMac - when the real reason why most people use floppy drives nowadays is to reformat Windows!
I admit that the Macs are starting to lag behind the PCs in terms of power. Apple's attempt to debunk the "Megahertz Myth" was not entirely successful. So Ill just say this: Intel's new Itanium 2, which is probably gonna pretty much replace their whole x86 line, only runs at 900mhz or 1ghz right now. A chip CAN be slower and more powerful. Im not saying the G4 is more powerful than the P4, but that can happen.
And when it comes to games, yea, Apple doesn't get as much. Thats obvious. But they get the big ones. You can look at it one of two ways: one is the "I want it all!" idea and the other is the "Oh no, Im not gonna get to play Desert Rats, Tsunami 2265, Mystery of the Druids!" idea. I would take the latter. I dont play that much PC games, and the Mac has the big ones, so I would prolly be fine. But I can see that somebody who plays PC games religiously can sweat it. And thats cool.
I love Apple's industrial design and their ability to make things beautiful, practical, and elegant at the same time. I mean, come on - no MP3 player on the market comes CLOSE to iPod. No multimedia player comes CLOSE to iTunes. No picture software suite comes CLOSE to iPhoto. PC manufacturers copied the iMac when it first came out, and now they are doing it again with the new iMac. And so forth.
I was at a Comp USA last week, and the MAC display area was impressive. You can buy a 16 X 9 aspect plasma screen monitor for the MAC. Some of the hardware and peripherals were mighty impressive.
As it's been said before, their monitors are freaking beautiful, but the price is out of this world.
Yeah, that 22" display is brilliant. The old iMac screen really blew though, it was a blurry mess.
