If you're ordering from NCS, email them and see if they'll still give you Priority Mail. A while back they stopped using this option, but allowed existing customers to let them know if they'd still like to use it. I've always used Priority Mail since it's cheap, and it makes it from New York to San Francisco in 2 to 3 days.

Priority Mail is 2-3 days (average) anywhere in the US, and they deliver Monday through Saturday, not including holidays.

You should have just bought a gamebit. Not only would you get it cheaper and shipped for less, but you'd be able to use the bit on other consoles and Genesis games.
