J2dfanboy: Unfortunately, not yet.. then again, my homepage has been down for over a week now! I've talked to my friends at insertcredit and they're willing to feature my replays. Although I plan on re-doing Chapter 1 and adding a promo of Chapter 5 (a complete chaining guide for the preface). I also have a 2-player S++ ranking replay of Chapter 1 I need to capture (as I know lots of folks have complained about how difficult it is to achieve this in 2-player mode).

I'd like some more time to experiment with Chapter 4. I should be able to add a few more chains to the beginning third of the stage, plus figure out a way to maintain the chain through the first mini-boss and yet still be able to kill him quickly.

Hm I think the chapter 3 boss is way more easy, Im gonna learn how many times he spins in one direction now, 3 times right, 3 times left etc.

You have to make it to the Chapter in a single credit for it to be opened up in Pratice mode... If you've made it there in a single credit then perhaps you haven't turned on Auto Save....

ON stage 4, how do you beat the first sub-boss? the one that fires out strings of bullets and theres those round ships flying everywhere, do you just hide behind the shielded section until he dies?

I'm not quite sure what part you're talking about.

If you're referring to the start of the level (after the intro portion), that's not an actual sub-boss. All you have to do is survive the flower-bullet barrage and avoid the drones. When the first sub-boss does appear (watch for the timer), you need to fire at the rivets circumscribing the core.

aight coo, yeah I figure it out now. It's just that I lose all my continues trying to survive that. Another thing, on stage 3, when there's those black ship flying to the top from the bottom, and white ships to the bottom from the top. Its in a medium tight space and you have to move sideways to dodge the upcoming black ships. How exactly do you keep chaining it? cus eventually the white ship will run into your fireline.


Lasty, how do you chain the beginning of stage 2(the mini ships flying every where) I can usually do about 4-5 chain they hit a stray drone or dye trying to chain.

What I do is shoot the white ships as long as I can, then snake my way down to about the bottom third of the screen. The black ships are now filling the corridor at this point. Then I just weave right and left, chaining the black ships as I go. That's the best I can do right now.

The best advice I can give is to watch the Treasure Chapter 2 superplay video a hundred times and study the player very carefully. The key is to precisely time your vulcan shots so you shoot three drones at a time.

for the beginning of chapter 2, yeah watch the video to sorta figure it out, and then just practice the hell out of it. i couldnt do it for the longest freakin time, then it just all came together, you just have to see/do it for yourself. my highest chain on the intro part i think is around 30-35 or so. as for that part on chapter 3, i pretty much do the same as sleeve, take out as many white ships as possible first, but when i go down to the bottom i just launch the homing laser, the chain usually keeps up, and just take out the extras according to the chain status.

In chapter 3, to survive and chain the part where the white planes and black planes coming from the top and bottom. First, if you look carefully at the background, you will notice that there are actually two lanes in the background. As your plane "Hit Center"(the center part of your ship, very obvious for player 1) is relatively small. You can actually use the two lanes as your guide line by placing your ship's hit center on any of the two lane moving up and down without getting killed by the enemy planes. If u done it correct, you can chain easily by shooting 3 sets of white than 3 sets of black until the planes stop coming from the edge.(1 set = 1 hit chain)

This works for me, if someone still has problems with the chapter 3 midboss, I just charge up when the red beams hit me in the beginning and then change to white and blast the white with the special then change to black and charge and let it rip on the white when it appears, it should destroy it, and then I just charge and blast the last white with dark and take out the two last dark ones, something like that, it easier than the video that someone posted where there is a chance that it explodes in your face while changing.
I never die on him now.

Any one else got any better advice than to go white and destroy all the the dark gun turrets and then clear up some of the whites with the dark special on the boss btw? I end up with a 40-53 seconds left when I destroy him.

edit: And I still cant make all the chains of the first part of Chapter 3, and I have kikens video showing how to do it.
I just stay on one side and move up and down and skip the ones in the middle.

Woooh a perfect run for me, almost, topped my score on 4 of the chapters, but I crashed on the trench run in chapter 3 and didn't kill the chapter 4 boss.
50k from third place, damn you Valgar, damn you.
But I'm guessing that you have a better score just waiting to get posted.

And why does the some of the bosses get more evil when you start to kick their ass, its like I'm being punished for surviving, I guess its a good thing though but it is frustratingly hard at this point, those stray bullets on chapter 5 make me want to punch my WMU in the face.

Haha, actually I do have a score around 20 million that I havn't really gotten around to posting yet (I'm really waiting till I get 25+ mil). I havn't played Ikaruga in about 5 days though, tomorrow my VGA box comes. Once thats all set up, you can bet I'm goona be playin all night and day.
