  4. I'm really amazed how popular Mega Man 2 is. Admittedly, the only NES Mega Man I've played was Mega Man 6, which I found to be highly enjoyable. And if there hasn't been a vote for MM6 yet...well...

    What's so great about MM2?

    Everything.

In particular I LOVED the music in it.

  6. Mega Man 2 was astounding when it was released - it looked more like an actual cartoon than anything that had come before it. The music was amazing, some of the most remembered tunes in gaming, going from pump-uppity to haunting. But most of all, the game played like a dream, with lots of really cool levels and mechanics thrown in (who didn't love Metal Man's weapon?).

The only downside is that it was dead easy; like alot of games back then I finished it in a rental. I like the first Mega Man more in alot of ways, but the second game is what put the series on the map. In fact, I don't think Capcom's been able to make a MM game as good as that one since.

  7. I too would really like to know what it is about Megaman 2 that so many people are voting for it. I always found Megaman 3 alot better. Better graphics, music, and the inclusion of rush.

I'm not a huge Megaman fan but I can understand why people pick number 2 as their favorite since it was a big improvement over the first game and the series wasn't overdone yet.

Megaman 3 was probably my most played of the NES Megaman games.

  9. Bionic Commando
    Blaster Master
    Crystalis
    Guardian Legend, The
    Kid Icarus
    Legend of Zelda, The
    Metroid
    Ninja Gaiden 2 (hard choice between 1 & 2)
    River City Ransom
    Super Mario Bros. 3

Man, wish I had room for Batman.

Part II had TRIPLE NINJAS! That seals the deal.

Urgh...Sunsoft Batman, Blaster Master, River City Ransom....too many great games left off.

And something about Mega Man 3 never sat right with me. The enemies and levels just weren't as cool.
