Thread: Sony on PS3: "We're not thinking about the hardware."

  1. Jesus, is that an attempt at humor of flaming? I can't even tell.

  2. Soccer REAL name is FOOTBALL. Its beeing played by FEET you know?

  3. Ken Kutaragi? Isn't he that idiot that complemented the 3DO in an interview last year saying it was a pretty good machine with a good concept (I'm not kidding)? Would he also be the same idiot who before the PS2 launch, told the American press that the PS2 is a major human accomplishment on par with the Great Wall of China? Ohhhhhhhh yeah. That guy. What a moron.

So they expect it to sell about... ten units?

Ummm... I like people who are forward-thinking, but I seriously don't see all this happening by 2005. I see a world where you dont have to spend $200-$300 just to get the ability to spend more money on games (because thats all a console is), but that world isn't three years away.

I like Kuturagi because he's thinking of the future, but he's thinking a bit tooooo far ahead.

But actually if you think about it... the whole appliance thing fits in with The Cell. The one weird thing that was gonna happen with The Cell was like... what if I was the first person to buy a PS3? There'd be no other boxes on the grid to help me with my processing power, rendering the PS3 useless!

But if people had a TV a DVD player a receiver whothefuckknowswhatelse hooked up to that grid, then that problem I just mentioned would be eliminated.

So... I know its easy to make fun of, but this is some clever thinking on Sony's part... but its just looking a bit too far ahead. I see maybe a console in 2015 doing this, but not 2005.

Hey, this november it's going to have Shinobi (Genesis), VF4 (arcade), Rygar (NES), Suikoden III (PSX), king of Fighters 2000 (Neo Geo) and Contra (last seen looking respectable on SNES). It's like the great melting pot peacemaker of gaming. Be honest, that's more fun than the great wall of china

  6. Contra (last seen looking respectable on SNES).
Lay off the retarded fanboy nonsense for one topic, thanks. Contra: Hard Corps was more than respectable.

  7. Not only did CNN have a crawler message (we call it a "ticker") but they actually made a full story out of it. Here is how it went, I swear.

News Dude A : We now go to News Dude B.

News Dude B : So, Sony is planning the PS3 for a 2005. uuhhh... Sony wouldn't return my calls so here are some shitty videos of HALO and COOLBOARDERS...... neat....

News Dude A : Ahahahaha, thanks News Dude B, in other news, Bush got a great tan, didn't he?

Anyways, I plan to run my PS3 on my Atari 2600.

  8. Remember the fool from Sony saying how "The PS2 is the beginning of the end of the PC as we know it." I checked my courses for this Fall, no PS2 Science, still just plain old Computer Science.

I think we could rant and rave for pages on end about the needless bullshit from Sony. I'd just pick apart their statements of having an exciting PS2 launch, and go from there.

  10. I remember when the PS2 was promised to be your entertainment hub for downloading content like music, chatting, replacing your PC. Thank goodness it ended up being a game console instead.

PS: Toss in the occasional DVD playing.
