Thread: The All-TNL Top Ten SMS and/or Duo Games List

  1. Whoever chooses Jackie Chans Action Kung Fu over street fighter 2 should be castrated
Well I couldn't disagree more. A superb martial arts side-scrolling platformer with stunning control vs an old sub-perfect arcade conversion which is on a million other systems. I would only play the pcb anyway.

And then you go and put Jackie Chan in fourth, which forfeits your right to pick on others' lists. Definitely not as good as Zelda, but it's respectable and the best Turbo CD game I've played.

I think Sega's SMS Ninja Gaiden is pretty bad.

I agree with the statement that the SMS doesn't have as big a list of classics as the NES or the 16-bit machines but I think it has a good handful of games in the same league as the best games on the other machines, even if the SMS list is smaller. I think the SMS can take claim to a few 8-bit genres like shooters, gun games, and RPGs but overall it can't compete with the quantity of good games and massive third-party support the NES had.

And no one should be lumping the TurboGrafx with the 8-bit machines. It truly is part of the 16-bit era regardless of its 8-bit processor. How can you play a game like Blazing Lazers or Dracula X and even think to categorize this machine alongside the NES, SMS, and 7800?

This thread is about two machines that were great fun even though most of the gaming action was on their competitor's consoles.

  4. Man, Jackie Chan is a totally awesome game.

Not that I give a toss about others opinions, especially not people that like really crap old RPGs. I mean the killing method is lame beyond belief and heavy metal in a fantasy game.....pleeeaase. Good grief Charlie Brown.

Korly, that haunted mansion game is Ghost House.

That shooting game is called Safari Hunt.

The game built into the SMS2 is Alex Kidd in Miracle World.

And that golf game on TurboGrafx is called Power Golf.

You're right about everything but Safari Hunt. By shooting game, I meant Ikagura, not Time Crisis.

Okay, I misunderstood. The game is Astro Warrior.
