Thread: Electrical equipment with wooden veneer

  1. I need to find the Xbox redesign I sketched out a while back. Not that it's too hard to best the current design, but the one I did up looked super-schway.

  2. The Atari 2600 had some class to it. Those pre-1985 systems were great, even if they didn't have woodgrain. They have a timeless look.

    My favorite AV designs are definitely by McIntosh. They definitely have a retro AV feel, and the glass faceplate is just beautiful.


    This picture of the MC206 6-channel amp doesn't do it much justice, but it was small.


    The MX-134 processor couples with the amp perfectly, but I forgot what the little pushbuttons do.

    If you like brushed aluminum, Krell has some awesome AV equipment that has this finish, but it's real expensive.

    I never liked the wood trim, and the kind that lined the Atari looks to be about 1/8" thick. I doubt that it's even real wood.
