What would you say about this review of the PSX.

For anyone who also goes to game faqs, here is the topic about this Review.

At first I thought to myself "What an idiot, this guy has to be so incredibly stupid to give the PSX hardware such a low rating, I mean it's not great, but it's not that bad!"

Now I'm thinking "Well, after reading Zidane's review of FFT, maybe this guy isn't so stupid, just very critical. He did somewhat give his reasons even if they do seem to be misguided."

So I am just wondering what you all think of this, and if this review of the PSX hardware is made by an idiot, or a critical person?

He keeps talking about some "PSX" machine and then he goes on and on about some mysterious "Dolphin" machine. Clearly the reviewer is living in a fantasy world.

Well, I love how he's able to say what the DOLPHIN had, what with the extensive amount of time he spent playing it and all... This system review, like many others on GameFAQs, is pure trash. At least it's not as bad as the Crazy Taxi PS2 review that claimed CT was a Driver rip-off.

I sure hope you're joking about the reviewer hitting the nail on the head. He gave the Playstation's game library a rating of 3/10. And that's ridiculous considering that the Playstation has one of the greatest collection of games ever.

Coming from what sounds like a Nintendo only fan, I can see why he gives it such low ratings. I loved the PSX a lot, but by todays standards, I can see giving the library of games a rating of 6/10. Most of those games were great in the day, but father time has'nt been so nice to some of those titles. Play a game like Gran Tourismo 1 and you'll see what I mean.


As a whole, the reviewer is talking out of his ass and does'nt do a very good job of it either.

Ok, I'm going to sound like an asshole here, but if you can see giving the Playstation's library of games a 6/10 you're a fool. The NES has tons of excellent games, but they look like shit now. So you could see giving it's library, say, a 3/10 now?

Probably. Like only 10% of the games are even playable now, and probably 1/3 of thoses are ports of games that were much better in the arcades or on other systems. The very good stuff is very good, but man is there alot of crap.
