Sell me on XBox

I think the first thing that needs to be asked is what type of games do you like? Listing a bunch of games I think are good won't help you out in the slightest, because you might not be into them.

Since I don't work for MS, I won't "sell you" on XBox. You know your tastes and if that's available on XBox, then I'll simply say "Why not?"

The X-Box has quickly become my 'game system of choice' and here are some of the reasons:

The PS2 has the best full catalog of games (because of it's head start of a year) and includes many must plays like Metal Gear Solid 2, Gran Turismo 3, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, etc...) but the graphics are not the same caliber as the XBox. I will not buy games made for multiple consoles for the PS2 because the graphics are typically the worst on the PS2. Upcoming games exclusive to the PS2 include: Contra: Shattered Soldier, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper and Devil May Cry 2

The Gamecube looks great but I bought that for very specific games (Resident Evil, Metroid Prime, Zelda, Super Mario, Rogue Leader, Star Fox). Their list of upcoming games is not as full as the X-Box (even though there are some first rate games coming - the Cube is quality over quantity). I will not buy games made for multiple consoles for the Cube because the controller is not as comfortable (for me) as the X-Box S-Controller. Upcoming games exclusive to the Cube include: StarFox, Zelda, Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 0

I prefer the X-Box for the graphics and because the S-Controller feels very comfortable. The current lineup of games includes some excellent offerings:

Halo
Project Gotham Racing
Sega GT 2003
Morrowind
Munch's Oddyssey

... plus many games offfered on multiple platforms like NFL 2K3, SSX Tricky and most sports titles.

Upcoming games include:

Panzer Dragoon Orta
Blinx
Mech Assault
Brute Force
Lord of the Rings - Fellowship
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance
Splinter Cell

... and many multi-platform games like BloodRayne, Robotech, Need for Speed 2 and Vexx that should look better on the X-Box.

Slowly I am being converted from my Playstation to the X-Box and I am quite surprised and happy. The X-Box has a positive outlook right now. Some sports games, great racing games, new platform games coming out. Once the RPG's begin to roll out, the X will have it all.

This should not be taken as a slam against the other 2 systems (as I enjoy them all). Right now I just prefer the X-Box....

I bought my Xbox the same week JSRF came out. I thought the game really sucked compared to the original, but I could see the potential in the sytem. Rented a few more, they sucked too. Then I bought Halo and it was as good as everyone says. Later I picked up Gunalkyrie, sucked, the I got Rallisport which is a blast. Picked up Sega GT the other day. Great game, piss poor graphics. So far it's a mixed bag, but I'm still glad I got the sytem even at $300. Plus if your a Panzer Dragoon fan then it's a no brainer. Then you got Ureal coming. Oh and then there Halo 2, DOA 4, Ninja Gaiden, Project Gotham Racing 2...yeah for $200 its worth it.

Well, Its all been said before. There are some great games games on Xbox now like JSRF, HALO, GunValkirie, Buffy, DTR, Max Payne and others, and more coming soon like Orta, Ninja Gaiden, Splinter Cell and others.

I think its a great system, and usually the games that come to multiple systems, or ports of PC games, are better on Xbox.

If you have to ask why you'd want an Xbox, you shouldn't get one.

PS2 is getting the sequel to Xenogears over here early next year, so unless you have one already, I wouldn't recommend getting an Xbox first.
