If you want a perfect example of the SNES' parallax, check out Prehistorik Man, it's all over the place in that game.

This question will probably sound ridiculous to most people here but since I'm not an American and honestly don't know, I have to ask: what is middle school? Is that elementary or high school?

  3. In between. The grades vary a little, but for me, elemtary school was 1-5, middle school 6-8, and high school 9-12. Sometimes states have junior high instead of middle school for 7th and 8th grades, and elementary school is 1-6.

    Are you Canadian?

    Yeah, I'm Canadian.

In British Columbia here, we just call Grades 1-7 elementary school. I think other provinces vary though.

  5. *time for a confession*

I didn't own an SNES until after it was dead, because I was an idiot SEGA fanboy. I have one now though, and I agree, its amazing.

There is no question that the SNES was a better piece of hardware than the Genesis. I don't really understand why people dispute this.

That being said, I think far too many people take the "graphics-whore" route and automatically declare the SNES the better system. The Genesis has a greater quantity of good action games than the SNES.

  8. It always puzzles me that the SNES gets accused of being weak with action games.

    Turtles in Time
    Smash TV
    Haggane
    Contra III
    Castlevania IV
    Dracula XX
    Megaman 7
    Megaman X I-III
    Super Turrican 1 and 2
    Pocky and Rocky
    Super Battletoads

and that's just off the top of my head. It's also not counting platformers, beat em ups, shmups, and adventure games. There was plenty of action to be had in games like Super Metroid or Axelay when you get right down to it.

I never said that the SNES was weak with action games just that there are more good ones on Genesis.

True, but it depends on your tastes as well. Some may argue that though there are more action Genesis games, they are not up to the quality as those that are on the SNES. But this argument will go on and on and like was mentioned before, reminds me of Middle School (although I didn't know that many gamer friends in middle school).
