Thread: Sly Cooper?

  1. Sly Cooper?

What's the word on Sly Cooper? The preview clips I saw looked kind of impressive. This one is already released, but I haven't seen anything on it. No buzz, no hype, not even any trashing. Anyone?

EGM seemed to like it: 9.0, 8.5, 7.5.

  3. There are a couple very favorable reviews on the web:

Yeah, they're IGN and Gamespot, but I think they give a pretty good idea of what to expect.

Sly's also retailing at $39.99, which is nice. Considering what I've seen of the new bunch of platformers (Ratchet, Blinx, etc), I like Sly the best. I'll probably pick it up sooner or later.

I saw some movies on it in a recent OPM, looks great. I'll pick it up when it hits $20.

  5. I've already seen 2-3 different commercials for it today.

  6. I played through the demo and (shockingly) loved it. No, this is coming from a guy who sat out Rayman and Klonoa, since I pretty much gave up console platformers after playing Donkey Kong Country.

Conversely, the Ratchet & Clank demo almost reinstilled my distaste for platformers. It seemed like typical, gimmicky, soulless PS2 fare.

  7. Just as I said in the Blinx thread, I will give both of them a rent, when they out. If I end up liking them, I might pick them up later on

  8. If I get a PS2 again, this is one game I gotta have, no question.

  9. Sly is like a cute, animal version of Metal Gear Solid

  10. I happened by one of the PS2 demo kiosks in Best Buy a few days ago, saw that Sly Cooper was running, and figured I'd try it for a minute or two to see what it was like (usually hate those games). I ended up playing it for something like a half-hour, the game just grabbed my attention and held on to it.

It's great fun, and the control is surprisingly excellent. Graphics are absolutely amazing, too.
