Here's a solution, give up gaming, live in the mountains and find spirtitual inner peace...
Good gravey! I could care less about Suikoden 3 and Red Faction 2 though, but man too much on one day! Plus Tony Hawk 4 comes out that day as well, not that I will be getting it. But thats another monster game that will eat up sales of a game thats more deserving. But I feel that the Tony Hawk craze is really starting to fade, but you never know.
Damnit! I was interested in Ninja Assault as well, and that comes out the same day too!!! Jesus fucking crist! The game industry has gone mad!
I mean are they trying to see if they can beat out Vice City?! Because they won't, GTA:VC is going to eat them all up and spit them out. As much as I like Contra, its only going to hurt it self by coming out on the same day. Poor move Konami.
Barf! Barf! Barf!

suikoden or contra? tough question.
in suikoden 2, did it make THAT big of a difference if you didn't play the first?
Not so much.Originally posted by Kinopio

You just missed alot of in-jokes, and the backstory on some of the reoccuring characters.
I had no clue Tony Hawk 4 came out that day, wooooo!
At least I know that by the end of October, I'll be broke and failing classes. Contra: Shattered Soldier, Suikoden III, and FF1+2 LE pack.
You can probably get 95% of the storyline out of the game having not played the first. Suikoden II is technically a direct sequel to the first game, and has alot of reoccuring characters, but their links to the first game, storyline-wise, aren't that strong. Suikoden II is still, for the most part, and independant installment in a series.in suikoden 2, did it make THAT big of a difference if you didn't play the first?
Though, the first Suikoden can be had for like $15 these days, and takes only about 20 hours to complete, so it couldn't hurt to play through it beforehand.
I thought a lot of the charm of Suikoden II was the fact that it had a so many references to part one...I can't imagine playing one without the other.
Woohoo, can't wait for III, just hope it doesn't dissappoint like other Konami PS2 sequels. IGN is running a feature on all 108 stars this week but I'm not gonna go near it.
Fuck yeah! House of the Dead 3 and Contra on the same day!
Let me put it this way: Should i jump into the series at suikoden 3?
Indeed. I'll probably finally get around to picking up a PS2 due to Suikoden III's release. It's an absolute must-have for me.Originally posted by Yamcha
