Thread: Contra and Suikoden III moved up to October 29th

  1. Good gravey! I could care less about Suikoden 3 and Red Faction 2 though, but man too much on one day! Plus Tony Hawk 4 comes out that day as well, not that I will be getting it. But thats another monster game that will eat up sales of a game thats more deserving. But I feel that the Tony Hawk craze is really starting to fade, but you never know.
Damnit! I was interested in Ninja Assault as well, and that comes out the same day too!!! Jesus fucking crist! The game industry has gone mad!
I mean are they trying to see if they can beat out Vice City?! Because they won't, GTA:VC is going to eat them all up and spit them out. As much as I like Contra, its only going to hurt it self by coming out on the same day. Poor move Konami.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  2. Here's a solution, give up gaming, live in the mountains and find spirtitual inner peace...
    Name: Rock
    Town: Arcadia

  3. suikoden or contra? tough question.

in suikoden 2, did it make THAT big of a difference if you didn't play the first?

    Not so much.

You just missed alot of in-jokes, and the backstory on some of the reoccuring characters.

I had no clue Tony Hawk 4 came out that day, wooooo!

  5. At least I know that by the end of October, I'll be broke and failing classes. Contra: Shattered Soldier, Suikoden III, and FF1+2 LE pack.

You can probably get 95% of the storyline out of the game having not played the first. Suikoden II is technically a direct sequel to the first game, and has alot of reoccuring characters, but their links to the first game, storyline-wise, aren't that strong. Suikoden II is still, for the most part, and independant installment in a series.

Though, the first Suikoden can be had for like $15 these days, and takes only about 20 hours to complete, so it couldn't hurt to play through it beforehand.

  6. I thought a lot of the charm of Suikoden II was the fact that it had a so many references to part one...I can't imagine playing one without the other.

Woohoo, can't wait for III, just hope it doesn't dissappoint like other Konami PS2 sequels. IGN is running a feature on all 108 stars this week but I'm not gonna go near it.

  7. Fuck yeah! House of the Dead 3 and Contra on the same day!

  8. Let me put it this way: Should i jump into the series at suikoden 3?

Indeed. I'll probably finally get around to picking up a PS2 due to Suikoden III's release. It's an absolute must-have for me.
