    Ika!
    http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown/1488/ika.html

A fairly straight-forward puzzler with an Ikaruga-style twist.

    The Controls:

Z to shoot, X to switch colors. The directional keys control movement across a set line.

  2. 2,372,710 - Bern-D

    MAXCHAIN: 76
Near the end of my game, there was this long column of red blocks with no drones nearby to destroy them. Hate it when puzzle games throw me these awkward situations.

  3. Bern-D: 2,716,000 - Max Chain 97

Could've kept going, but my intended target crossed the line after I misfired my shot by a few pixels. Whoops...

If you push X at the difficulty select screen, you will see a different character. Looks like a woman's torso...how amusing...

  4. Bern-D: 3,037,280 - Max Chain 49

Break a chain for a little loss now, great gains later. To 4 million!

  5. Bern-D: 3,678,500 - Max Chain 70

I'm too tempted to keep going, but I have work to do. I'll stop here for a bit.

  6. Bern-D: 4,838,520 - Max Chain 152

The addiction and the entrancement I experienced from Tetris married with the freedom and power I experience from shoot-em-ups...Ika's so good... Too bad a fast black drone crossed the red line and woke me up from my trance.

    To six million!

  7. Ika's so good
He's damn right, folks. I'd hate to think you were all missing out.

And some fine scores you've got there, Bernard. You may not have much competition at the moment, but that #1 spot is well-earned all the same.

  8. I don't think the charge bar is just decoration. If you're the same color as the incoming bullet, you'll "absorb" it and the meter will rise. Haven't been able to get it all the way up yet though.

  9. Trying to unzip the file gets me an error message- Apparently, I need an 'LHA external program'. What is an LHA external program? Where can I get one? What do I do with it once I have it?

    Thanks in advance.

An LHA external program is an unzipping program that wasn't packed into your original unzipping program. For example, if you use WinZip, you will need the external program LHA213.EXE to unzip LZH files. But I have yet to make it work.

Although +Lhaca isn't such an external program, it's a stand-alone program that will unzip LZH files all the same. I think that's your goal. Get it here:
    http://www1.sphere.ne.jp/app/Lhaca

Once you downloaded Lhaca072.EXE, run it. If you want, change the directory on which you would like to place the program. Then press OK. Now just open the LZH file, and it will be unzipped. You will see a folder on the desktop containing the game. Have fun!
