Thread: Weekly Score-Attack Challenge

  1. Maybe someday I'll pick a game that doesn't have an abusable score gimmick...

  2. Max Chain 259
    GAMERESULT screenshot is here: http://www.shmups.com/beepreying/ikachain.jpg

This one's for rezo. Just did this for fun now that I see little point in earning a high score.

That's a nice chain. I just finished a game with
just under 8000000, which should have been a new
high score for me. But the max chain was only 77.
I lost it in the middle and didn't realize it -_-

Mode, don't worry about it, this game is fun. You
can be content with introducing it to some more
    people at least.

  3. Can somebody explain the entire game to me. The red boxes are killing me everytime, and I've developed carpal tunnel trying to make them explode.

Also, how do you keep a combo going with so many OTHER colored enemies abound?

  4. Can somebody explain the whole premis of the game? I am getting killed by the red boxes left and right.

Also, I can't get the combo looking thing in the upper left to go past 3 of a specific color.

PS: Thanks Mode, this game is great!

The whole premise of Ika is to string together chains.
Destroy an enemy to start a chain. Then to complete the
chain, destroy two more enemies whose color is that of your
starting enemy. Repeat this for bigger points per chain.

To destroy those red boxes, make sure that the third enemy
in your chain is adjacent to one of these boxes. Then
destroy it and the blast radius it emits will destroy them.
You may push up boxes with your shots so that an enemy is
    near it.

Destroying those boxes should be a high priority. Plan
    ahead.

The purpose of that "combo looking thing" is to indicate
how many enemies are in your current chain. If you light up
all three lights, you have completed a chain. You may start
a new chain with a different color.

    Hope this makes sense.

  6. Thanks!
