Metal Gear Solid Substance Xbox canned for Japan

According to Magic Box and Game Front, Konami has removed Xbox MGS 2 Substance from it's Japanese release list citing the Xbox's low user base. Konami said they will consider releasing Xbox titles in Japan if the system sells enough units, as it stands they will focus on US and Europe for Xbox titles. *-neo

Well, it would probably cost them more to manufacture it for the Japanese market than they'd make on sales of it.

we wont make games on the system till it sells more units but it needs games like this to sell more units

So, what about Silent Hill 2? Did that release in Japan for Xbox? Does Japan care about Silent Hill?

Other than Sega, Konami was the last major Japanese developer with a lot of interest in the Box. This really has to hurt.
