Never heard of it... The title sure is great and the main screen art is pretty fierce, too.

Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters (EPROM - must be a programmer's joke) was a nice 2D isometric action shooter from Atari Games released in 1989. It had a wonderful B-movie, Flash Gordon-esque visual style. I can't remember much about how the game played, but it was sort of Gauntlet-like: you made your way through hordes of robot monsters and could acquire various weapons and keys. There were also platforming segments and puzzle elements, even some shooting stages that recalled the forest bike sequences in Return of the Jedi, another Atari Games release.
Overall, the game played far too much like a computer game to be successful in arcades. The control was also too clunky for my liking (but this is always a problem with isometric platformers). Still, I wouldn't mind having another go at this game to enjoy the visual style alone.
Here's the KLOV entry, complete with screenshots and marquee photo.
Anyone else played this game before?

I quite liked the game even though I never played very far into it. I would like to play Domark's computer versions although I doubt the ports compare to the arcade.
oooooh!
Nice find, I loove the graphics!
Never played it, but I'll have to keep an eye for the arcade board in the future.
