Thread: Tiny Toons : Defenders of the Looniverse??

  1. Tiny Toons : Defenders of the Looniverse??

Has anyone heard anything new about the game? I've read that it is coming out for PS2, but some have told me it is coming out for Gamecube. Though I can't find any evidence of this. Is there any Release date planned....oh, did anyone PLAY the game at E3?

  2. Looniverse... Looniverse. It's supposed to be like Raguki(sp?) Showtime which is reportedly very good. Done by Treasure so I'm sure lots of people here will be playing it. All I know is that it's coming to PS2 only. I don't think I'd be suprised if Infogrammes demanded a GCN version (I'm sure Infogrammes will be publihing this since they own the licence).

  3. it's Looniverse? Everywhere I see it, it is universe...meh I can change it, perhaps?

  4. It's being released by Conspiracy, and is coming to PS2 and GC.

A few people here played it at E3, and reported it as being merely "okay", and Rakugaki was better due to one or two things that RS had which TT doesn't. No one here's really played it in-depth, so who knows.

You can check out some stuff at Conspiracy's site (http://www.conspiracygames.com/), but it's a pain of a site to get into.

Tracer: Rakugaki, roughly translates at "sketch" or "quick drawing".

  5. It's a multiplayer action game similar to Poy Poy, based on the gameplay mechanics of a previous Treasure effort, Rakugaki showtime. the gameplay centers around throwing things at you opponents. It's got a 4 player versus mode that's pretty much like Rakugaki, but from what I hear, a little slower, but its saving grace is a very slick co-op mode (which was not availible at E3, and has been largely overlooked) which has up to 4 players teaming up to take on all like of giant bosses. It actually looks pretty damn good.

It's not coming out on the Gamecube. Treasure is releaseing a Tiny Toons game for GC, which is the reason for some of the confusion, but it is in fact a different game made by a different team. It's supposed to be a platformer.

Dan Jevons of Conspiracy Games claimed Defenders of the Looniverse was getting a Gamecube port in an interview with Ali on this very site.

  7. Really, I must have missed that part of the interview :/ It was a long interview.

It's also on the site. Currently the only page they have up is for the PS2 version, but it's listed under GameCube as well and links there.

  9. What is it with Treasure and Looney Toons?
    Dammit...

    Still play it though...

Basically what's up with it is that Conspiracy bought the liscense to release some crap on PS1, and offered it to Treasure. Some members of Treasure worked on the SNES and Genesis TT games that Konami released, and they are just fans of the show in general, so having the liscense availible to them for free they decided to go nuts.

I'm not crazy about it either. Treasure's liscensed stuff has never been their strong suit (although Yu Yu was pretty solid), but seeing as they just released Ikaruga on DC I'm not going to get overly pissed at them.
