Thread: Live in your world, play in ours.

  1. Live in your world, play in ours.

I was watching TV the other day, and saw just about every single one of them they have. Honestly, I'm rather sick of them. They are too generallized, and make gaming seem terribly terribly lame. I dunno, they just irk me in some way. Kinda curious what others think.

Maybe they're all intentionally horrible so that as many people talk about it as possible?

Their recent one with the 'falling gargoyle' or whatever... doesn't sell any Sony product to me, and I don't know who it would. It's tough for me to be objective about it; I know what videogame products I am going to purchase well in advance of it being mentioned on TV.

I hope you dont mind, but I'm going to be using portions of that phrase in the near future.

What the hell do any of the things in those ads have to do with gaming? I've seen maybe 10 secs. of gameplay footage, tops, in any of them.

When you are as far ahead as Sony is they don't have to.

  7. The commercials are ok but ive got a tshirt with that logo on it

I dont wear it in public, I might get a beat down, lol.

  8. I don't get the commercials either. I like the Kingdom Hearts commercial, though, as far as PS2 goes.

  9. The Mark of Kri ad is particularly bad.

Some guy in a padded suit is getting walloped on by women training in self-defense. Soon enough, he thinks of Kri and unleashes a kickass spree that leaves them all unconscious, complete with button icons over their heads. Weird they would promote a game by showing a guy kick some ladies' butts.

I don't know, I guess I'm tired of ads that have nothing to do with the game--I still think that in-game graphics should make up the majority of videogame commericials.

On the other hand, Square's Kingdom Hearts commercial is great... All in-game shots and a nice trance theme song from the game. It doesn't pander to kids, which would be an easy route to take with a Disney game.

They show footage all of the great games that Sony has brought us over the years. How can you beat that?
